Becky Crockett, DVM
Dr. Crockett’s love of animals started really early as a child growing up in Smith County, TN. Her passion for animals started with the love of horses. Dr. Crockett actively participated in three-day eventing competitions for almost 25 years. Some of her most intriguing and beloved pets growing up include a pet groundhog named Woody Wood Chuck, a three-legged cat named Guess, her right-hand canine companion named Petey, and a best friend named Babs (her horse of 23 years).
Dr. Crockett graduated with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2008 from the University of Tennessee. After graduation, she completed a small animal one-year internship at Carolina Veterinary Specialists. The internship included specialty rotations in surgery, neurology, internal medicine, behavior, and emergency medicine. She has been working as an associate small animal veterinarian in the local Tennessee area. Dr. Crockett’s interests include dentistry, mass removals, laceration repairs, preventative care, and medicine.
Dr. Crockett and her husband, Nick, reside in Lebanon with their two children, Owen and Emilia on their family-owned century farm. They have four dogs, two horses, a cat, and lots of chickens. Nick works locally as an Environmental Compliance Manager. When not working, her focus is spending quality time together as a family, traveling, taking the dogs for a walk, and tending to regular farm chores.
Melinda Morency, DVM
Dr. Morency was born in Nashville, Tennessee and moved with her parents to Lebanon, Tennessee when she was eight years old. She doesn’t remember a time when animals did not surround her. In fact, her mom has a picture of her crib with the family cocker spaniel, Fancy, laying underneath. While she didn’t live on a farm, throughout her life she has had a variety of pets who she's had the pleasure of sharing life with.
When it came time to pursue career options, Dr. Morency knew there was only one career for her: veterinarian. She graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a degree in Agriculture/Animal Science and was accepted into the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. It was during this time between admission and graduation that she met and married her husband. Over the next several years, her family grew from just the two of them to four. She discovered a love of travel in addition to continuing to practice veterinary medicine.
Because of this love of travel, she and her family have lived in several different places around the country but Middle Tennessee has always been her home. They moved back to the Nashville area a few years ago and have enjoyed reconnecting with family. Dr. Morency looks forward to exploring more of this beautiful area, meeting more people, and helping their pets on her journey.
